For this round, get ready to dive back into those high school yearbooks. Who’s the cutest couple? Who has the prettiest smile? Who’s most likely to go pro? Be creative and have fun!

Rules

In the context of this round, superlatives are “titles” or “awards” a character/s might win based on their personality, appearance, future, etc. Superlatives are common in American high school yearbooks.

Please use one of the following formats for your prompt:

Including the character who earns the superlative is optional. You can pick it yourself or allow the filler to choose. That said, remember that your header must ALWAYS include AT LEAST one fandom in the “fandom” section. Prompts that write “any” in the fandom section will not be counted for points.

Please be sure to fill out all lines of the header (even with “None” or “N/A,” so we can count your prompts/fill for points.) If you leave a line blank we don’t know if it was intentional or a mistake, and cannot count it for points.

You’re welcome to be as classic or creative as you like with your superlatives. Both typical and atypical superlatives are great for this round!

Scoring

The scoring for bonus rounds depends on the number of people (n) on your team. You’re welcome to make as many prompts and fills as you like!

For prompts: 5 points per prompt, limited to 5 times the number of team members (5n)

For fills, where (n) = number of members on you team:

First 5n fills: 20 points each
Fills 5n to 10n: 10 points each
Fills 10n to 15n: 5 points each
All fills after 15n: 2 points each

We’ve changed the expected workload for Bonus Round Fills! The new recommended workload is 12 fills per member for Gold, 8 fills per member for Silver, and 4 fills per member for Bronze. "Hey, you over there."

Can you believe that was the first thing you've ever said to me? Yeah, I can believe, too. I actually had a pretty good first impression of you from the introductions, speaking up about how you won't lose to others just because they have bigger bodies. Nice! I thought I would totally be friends with you, but that illusion came down pretty damn quickly when you offen— commented my amazing bazooka ball. Who did you think you were, you bastard?! Sure you were pretty good at fielding but look at that obviously too big clothes you were wearing! Not to mention how bossy you are, saying this and that, this and that all the time! I mean, sure, what you said was right most of the time, but still! I don't know how many I said I'd kill you and felt like I meant it, and from how you acted around me I knew you weren't so fond of me either. That's when I started dreading having to be around you every day for the next three years.

"Isashiki."

I'm pretty sure you'd known my name since the very start — I've noticed you're very observant and have excellent memory — but that was the first time you actually called me by my name. I don't even remember when that was, but I remember replying with, "Finally, I'm beginning to think you can't remember people's names." I don't remember what you replied with, but god damn do I remember barking at you like hell and you were looking smug and I wanted to punch the hell out of you. It's funny how memory works, huh? Like people say, you may not remember what someone said or did but you'll always remember how it made you feel. Well, it made me feel annoyed but weirdly happy and proud, you calling me by name. That's probably also when I started to think, maybe I could get along with this person after all, with this guy who always works harder than anyone else on and off the field, who wants nothing but perfection in every aspect of his life, who's always strict to anyone around him and most especially to himself.

"Jun."

It was so natural that I don't remember when everyone, including you, started calling me by my first name. I remember when I first called you by your first name, it was after Winter Camp of Hell, and I complained that both your first and last names were too long to be called when you were almost out of breath, both four syllables! It becomes a habit afterward, I came to like how your name rolls off my tongue. Ryousuke. And I like how you call my name, too. There's a sense of affinity that comes with the way you call me, it makes me feel closer a bit closer to you, and I realized that even when you seem aloof and ruthless, you're also a part of the team, someone I can call a friend, a comrade I'm proud of.

"You idiot."

This isn't the first nor last time you said this, but this is the first time you've said it like this, with my head on your lap, a smile slightly bashful on your face. I never would've thought I would ever see you with this expression, your fingers running through my hair (and beard), face relaxed, contented, pleasant, even with a quiet, comfortable sigh. That's when I realized that maybe, just maybe, this is something I wanna see every day for the unforeseeable future.

Jun’s toes tap the floor of the bus rapidly, drawing a grumpy look from an old lady that he ignores. He can’t help it, after all. It’s his usual Sunday volunteers at the children’s hospital, and he doesn’t want to be late. He’d left Seidou in plenty of time, but people suck and also don’t know how to drive, so traffic is backed up far more than a weekend day should be.

Finally, he arrives at the hospital and signs in at the front desk. The receptionist, who he hasn’t seen before, gives Jun a strange look when he states his task for the morning but doesn’t say anything. It’s for the best, as Jun probably would’ve said something snappish at that judging look he would no doubt get on the subject.

After all, there aren’t many teenage boys who spend his one free day of the week reading shoujo manga to little girls trapped in a long term care ward, but Jun is here to do exactly that. Anyone who has anything to say about it can eat his entire ass.

On the third floor, Jun seeks out the appropriate desk and checks in. “I’m here for my shift,” he says to the nurse at the station, Reiko. He briefly flashes his paper ID badge. “What room number?”

She grins at him and says, “Room 411, Isashiki-kun. Down the hall on the left.” With a little salute, she adds, “Welcome back.”

Jun arrives at his destination in short order, but when he walks in, he isn’t expecting the number of kids waiting for him to arrive this week. When he had started out, there were maybe five girls who came to listen to him read the newest chapter of Kimi Ni Todoke. That number did grow as the weeks wore on, but now there are at least twenty children huddled around a chair in the middle of the room, including a few boys, as well.

He really, really loves this job.

Settling in the chair, Jun does his regular roll call, making sure he knows the name of every attendee. More than half of them are regulars who he recalls from past visits, but he wants to remember all the new ones, as well.

Soon, twenty eager faces lean in silent and rapt as Jun fills them in on the latest travails of the hapless heroine. Each one of them wait for the book to close before little hands dart into the air to ask questions about the chapter. Jun answers them one by one — even the nervous boy who hesitantly asks what the series is actually about.

As he is wont to do, Jun lingers far longer than he intends, but he never regrets losing that extra study time to bring that look of awe and suspense as children who don’t have much to look forward to absorb something as minor as manga like it’s the only thing in the world.

Back at the school, he bumps into Chris on the way to lunch and nods in acknowledgement. Chris does the same and asks, “So how were the kids today?”

“Tiny badasses, as usual.” Jun bobs his chin in resolve. “You should try it sometime. The girls would really like you.”

“Maybe I will.” They enter the cafeteria, and Jun delves into his meal with the knowledge that there isn’t a damn thing in the universe manlier than doing nice stuff for little kids. No rebuttals accepted.

Thank you all for these lovely fills! Just goes to show how big softies these boys are. I was surprised to see this little trilogy, it really made my day!

I refuse to believe in a world where Jun wouldn't be exactly like this. No one will ever convince me he isn't made of marshmallow through and through - sugar and fluff. I'm just glad there are some people who agree with me. :D Thanks for the prompt!
