SportsFest Scoring

This is a 2018 SportsFest post, and as such, does not contain information relevant to the current iteration of the event. If you're looking for the 2019 Scoring, click here!

(For example, if an 8-person team didn’t want to submit an MR, and would rather write 250 extra Bonus Round Fills, they could.)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Additional information about each scoring category is found below.

Main Rounds

Main Rounds are worth 500 points each. An entry will receive all 500 points if:

Main Rounds are not awarded points based on quality or popularity, just completion.

Comment Rounds

During this round, teams are awarded points for reading and commenting on other MR entries! Each team member may only comment once on each entry, any subsequent comments on the same entry will NOT be awarded points. However, multiple team members may comment on the same entry and be awarded points.

Each comment is worth 5 points, with the maximum number of comments per team member determined by the number of minor-friendly entries minus one.

Bonus Round Prompts

Team’s will be awarded 10 points per prompt per bonus round, up to the number of team members they have times 5. (e.g a 4-person team will be awarded points for up to 20 prompts, while an 8-person team will be awarded points for up to 40 prompts).

Additional prompts are welcome and encouraged, but will not be worth any points!

Bonus Round Fills -

With the exception of the Bonus Round 0: Graphics, all BR fills are awarded points on the same point scale:

Point Breakdown:

20 points per fill for first 5n fills

10 points per fill for next 5n fills

5 points per fill for next 5n fills

2 points per fill for  additional fills

Example: 4-person Team

20 points for fills 1-20

10 points for fills 21-40

5 points for fills 41-60

2 points for fills 61+

Example: 8-person Team

20 points for fills 1-40

10 points for fills 41-80

5 points points for fills 81-120

2 points for fills 121+

Bonus Round: Graphics

Since the graphics round is abbreviated, it has a slightly different point breakdown. 10 points are awarded per fill, for the first 15 fills, and any additional fills are worth 5 points. There is no cap on the number of fills a team can submit.

The recommended workload to reach each medal threshold will no longer require participation in Bonus Round 0. Instead, any fills in Bonus Round 0 will be bonus points, worth 5 points each. You can get a maximum of 75 bonus points.

Remix Round

The remix round is open for the duration of the event, and teams can submit fills at any time as long as:

  • It meets the work minimums outlined in the Bonus Round Guidelines

  • The original creator has given remix permission

Point Breakdown:

20 points per fill for first 8n fills

10 points for any additional fills

Example: 4-person Team

20 points for fills 0-32

10 points for fills 33+

Example: 8-person Team

20 points for fills 0-64

10 points for fills 65+

Rec Round

Each fill in the Rec Round is worth 5 points, and the number of fills awarded points is capped for each team, based on the number of members times 10. For example, a 4-person team is capped at 40 fills per rec round, while an 8-person team is capped at 80 fills per rec round.

Additional fills are encouraged (spread the love!), but will not be worth any points.

Team Worksheet

The team worksheet is a one-time worksheet that the mods have created to help with team bonding, administrative work, and to make sure that your entire team is on the same page. It will be distributed during the team switching period, and will be due before Bonus Round 0 starts. (Yes, we’re giving you homework).

The worksheet is intended to make sure that you have an awesome team to spend the summer with!

If you didn’t memorize it all, don’t worry. Each post will have a section in the header about how that specific category is being scored.

ONE LAST NOTE

Remember! It doesn’t matter what medal you get. The goal this summer is to appreciate some sports animanga, meet cool people, create awesome things, and to have a little fun! Happy Sportsfest!
