Remix Round
Welcome to the remix round! In this round, you’ll make remixes of other participants’ work!
Common remixes are podfics, fanfiction based on art, extended/divergent/different POV fics, and art, but feel free to make whatever creative remix you’d like!
This Round is officially CLOSED, but it is perpetually open for new fills.
The remix round open on June 16th, 2018 (12AM PT) and will close on August 28th, 2018 (11:59PM PT). (Almost the entire duration of the event!)
Rules
- Choose a fanwork created in a Bonus Round of SportsFest 2018 and make a remix of it!
- You cannot remix your teammates' works. You cannot remix your own works. You can remix fills that were created for your own prompts.
- Since all fills are based on previous works, there will be no prompts for this round. Simply post your fill as a comment on this post.
- You MUST have the creator’s permission to remix their fills. Check out the remix permissions post HERE.
- It’s also polite to message the original creator that you’ve remixed their fill.
Posting Fills
Minimums
Required Work Minimums:
400 words (prose)
400px by 400px (art)
Traditional art is also allowed with a good quality photo/scan
14 lines (poetry)
Playlists - 5 song minimum with artists. Link to either a video playlist, or each song separately. Be sure to warn for content in the music videos, and you may find linking to lyrics helpful. You may also write an explanation of why you chose each song.
Moodboards - 9 photo min, source all photos, and no fanart allowed (unless it's your own)
If you’d like to use a different medium, please contact the mods if you have any questions about minimum requirements.
There is no max work cap.

- Replace [Your Team] with the name of the team you belong to. Nickname or Official Name are both acceptable
- Replace [Rating] with the rating of your fill (G-E).

Copy/Paste the following into the body of your comment. Delete all instructional text in parentheses. Make sure that you use this format so that the bonus round scorer can count your remix!
NSFW Fills
All NSFW fills must be posted in the corresponding Remix Round post in the After Hours community. To join, click here.
After joining, you will be able to access the AfterHours Remix Round Post.
You may make NSFW remixes of a minor’s fill, but they MUST be posted on the AfterHours comm, and the minor will NOT be given access to read it. The minor must also give EXPLICIT permission that NSFW remixes of their fills are allowed (either by giving blanket permission, or by specifying it).
Scoring
20 points per fill for first (8n) fills (where n is the number of members on your team)
10 points for any additional fills
All scored content must be created new for this round.
Additional Information
A Tip: We all want SportsFest to be a fun and safe environment. If you notice someone has made a mistake in their required tagging, or any other html or rules related aspect of their comment, do let them know, message them privately rather than replying - if you reply, they can’t edit the comment! If you aren’t comfortable letting the commenter know directly, contact a mod and we will make sure they update the required tags.

Jun looked around the hospital play room with satisfaction. After many months of volunteering alone, his fellow teammates had begun to join him in reading to the kids at the local hospital on Sundays. Except for Ryou, that is. The first and only time Ryou came a kid had inquired about his pink hair and the look Ryou shot the kid led to an onslaught of tears. It was decided best for all concerned that Ryou no longer accompany the group.
Tetsu was reading Tales of the Meiji to a group of kids, who sat hanging on his every word. Jun couldn't help but smile to himself, for some reason the knowledge of Tetsu doing well with children warmed his heart.
Chris was reading a Japanese translation of Where the Wild Things Are. As expected the girls in the group were making dreamy sighs and goo goo eyes at the handsome man. Tch no surprise there thought Jun. After all even that bastard Miyuki is charmed by Chris.
Tanba had gotten off to a bit of a rocky start. The kids demanded to know how tall he was, what he ate, and one snaggle-tooth kid declared that he would beat Tanba's height one day. This threw Tanba off a bit and his shyness overcame him for a minute. That moron thought Jun Who gets thrown by a group of kids? Finally, Tanba overcame his shyness and was reading a book of traditional Japanese folktales for his group.
A tap on his shoulder caused Jun to jump. Reiko the pediatric nurse looked at him with a grave expression. "Um Issaki-kun? If its' not too much trouble do you think you can visit Momo's room before you leave?"
Jun had noticed Momo's absence. Usually she sat right by his feet, her brilliant smile lighting up the room. His heart clenched. "Has she taken a turn for the worse?"
Reiko looked down at the floor. "She's had a rough week. The chemo treatments were tough on her."
Jun nodded. "I'll go see her now. Room 207 right?"
"That's right. Thank you!" Reiko nodded then went to check on her patients.
Jun walked over to Tetsu to let him know where he was going and told him to feel free to head out with everyone when they were done. He'd catch up later. He walked down the hall, steeling himself for what he'd see.
"Uncle Jun!" Momo did her best to smile, even in her weakened state. It hurt Jun to see how much sicker she looked even though it had only been a week. He sat his bag of books down and pulled up a chair beside her bed.
"How's my princess?" he asked.
She smiled bravely. "I'm happy to see you! I told Mr. Bear you'd come." She hugged her teddy bear close. Jun marveled at the strength and bravery of this small girl. She'd lost all her hair and looked so small and frail in her bed yet she was trying to smile and be cheerful for her visitor.
"Of course I came. I can't miss seeing my best girl. Now what to read?" Jun made a show of digging through his bag. He pulled out a copy of Where the Sidewalk Ends. He knew it was her favorite. She lit up each time he read it to the group.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
Jun took a break from reading and looked up. Momo had drifted off to sleep, a peaceful smile on her face. He leaned over and tenderly brushed her cheek with his thumb. "Keep fighting my warrior princess. I'll be back next week." He packed his bag and headed down the corridor.
The sunlight felt somehow artificial when he stepped outside. Jun took a deep breath to steady himself and was surprised to notice his friends waiting for him on the bench. The group walked over to him and Tetsu slipped his arm around his shoulder. Jun leaned into it, shutting his eyes and grateful to have Tetsu's strength to borrow from.
Everyone was quiet, giving Jun a moment to compose himself. Finally, Tetsu broke the silence. "Let's get some ramen on the way back to school. My treat."
"Yeah" Jun replied. "That sounds good."
