Congrats on making it through the first two BRS, and welcome to the Rec Round, where you can recommend BR Fills that have been created!

Rec Round 1 will close on July 20th at 11:59PM PT (23:59 PT).

This Round is CLOSED. But perpetually open to new fills.

 

Rules

A rec post must have at least one fill recommended, but can have as many as you want. There should be at least two sentences describing why your recc-ing the fill/why it’s awesome.

You don’t need permission to rec a work.

Don't rec your own work. You can recommend things created by your own team, but please spread the love to other teams too. You’re more than welcome to rec fills to your own prompts!

That being said, the fills that you rec do not have to have been written for your own prompts.

Minors will not be allowed to rec NSFW fills.

Why is this work awesome?: The warm sunset colors are so lovely. I love the back view, with Kageyama staring ahead and Tsukishima turning to look at him. And of course, the thing that launched the kagetsuki fandom, the shirt grab. The idea that these two are getting closer but are still awkward around each other, that they still don't really know how to talk to each other but can communicate through these little gestures is captured perfectly in this piece and I love these two so much. :')

Why is this work awesome?: Simply put, this is stunning. Yachi's pose and expression are beautiful, and I love LOVE the way the water was painted, and the way everything was painted, really. Like, the hair. I don't know why, but the painting on Yachi's slipper also really stands out to me; it just looks so soft and satin?? This seriously blew me away when I saw it.

Why is this work awesome?: UM, THIS IS JUST AMAZING? First of all, I love the setting--the greens of the background and the RAIN. THE RAIN. Ushijima's expression is beautifully captured, the way he is so PAINFULLY in love. I could stare at it for hours. He's drawn so HANDSOME and EARNEST which is Peak Ushijima. And p&p au is perfect because he would absolutely confess in an unintentionally but incredibly backhanded way just like good old Mr. Darcy. This is... perfection.

Why is this work awesome?: UGH!!! I love the tsukihinakage trio SO MUCH and I love first years as third years SO MUCH so this is basically perfect. This fic in three words: quiet, soft, GOOD. I love that their edges have softened around each other but they're still very much them. Kageyama and Hinata arguing over which brand of athletic socks is better is so hilarious and perfect, it is quite possibly my favorite detail from this fic. But most of all, I love tsukki who is SOFT FOR THESE TWO, UGH. The last two words had me on the floor. This fic sustains me.

Why is this work awesome?: This is a WHOLESOME FIC. It’s cute and lighthearted and silly and I love everything about it. Goshiki’s single line of dialogue in this fic is perfect and hilariously adorable. And I just love the image of Ushijima strolling through the farmer’s market. He bought two bags of tea for his grandmother, guys. I love this boy. Have I mentioned that I love earnest Ushijima?? And then the ending was perfect, really tying it together and making it memorable as a sweet fic and not just a funny one (although it is DEFINITELY funny). :’)

Why is this work awesome?: Such a good fill for such a shitpost tweet prompt. Just in case you haven’t noticed, I love earnest Ushijima and I love him in this fic, the references to how seriously he takes his boyfriend duties. I love that even though Oikawa has zero manners we also see the hint that he does like Ushijima and is good to him in his own way. Ushijima initiating the kiss at the end was VERY NICE, and then the end was just perfect. VERY GOOD FUNNY FILL, I genuinely laughed out loud multiple times reading it, it’s so good.

Why is this work awesome?: I love this so much, it's so SOFT. This fic paints a beautiful picture of Kuroo and Tsukishima's slowly blooming relationship. The level of detail and nuance in the scene is honestly inspiring; perhaps my favorite part of Kuroo POV fic is the immense level of sap in this boy's body. He is SUCH a romantic soul and I LOVE HIM FOR IT. I love love love the mood of the fic; it's a little hesitant as they move forward in their relationship and yet it's so soft and warm and comfortable at the same time?? I love this ship so much and this fic hits all the right notes for them. ;v;

im kidding, there's so much i love about this i could spend probably all day talking about it. this fill has such a gentle, delicate atmosphere that encapsulates eevrything i love about kagesuga. the characterization is perfect:

Kageyama straightens, her hands falling to her sides. Even now, older and more worldly, she panics when she's caught doing something wrong.

the kissing was A++++++, and the last bit about kageyama being a fast learner absolutely KILLS the myn

"Well, look who it is!" calls a cheerful voice from the counter, and Asahi almost goes right back out again because it's the insanely cute barista with the beauty mark that Asahi has had at least four intensely embarrassing dreams about kissing. Asahi knows his name is Sugawara, because his name tag says it, and Sugawara knows Asahi's name is Asahi because he has to tell him it to write on the cup. "What'll it be today, Asahi-spelled-like-morning-sun?"

It's not until he sits the cup down at his lecture that he realizes his cup doesn't say his own name, it says Sugawara spelt like 'sedge field' and an email address.

So i think the fill is also friendly for people who are unfamiliar with Houseki no Kuni :3

11/10 would read 490k more of these three and the trouble they get up to.

Ushijima is still many things Oikawa already knew, but what he learns is that Ushijima is also kind, reliable, and wasted on him.

the SOUND i made when i read that was not even remotely human.

the lock and key metaphor destroyed me in the best way possible.

Ushijima looks at him with an intensity that burns through the darkness of his dorm, “I’ll never understand, Oikawa, how you wish to be around the person you hate so much.”

He laughs bitterly through tears, “I don’t hate you, Ushiwaka. I hate - I hate that I don’t hate you.”

Why is this work awesome?: i love how this bittersweet and wholesome fill captures not just the harsh edges of chinatsu and akira's relationship, but also the softer parts about them where they're learning to heal and be friends with each other again.

Akira can't have her as a leader, anymore, but she's slowly regaining her as a friend.
