These rules were inspired by those of the Sports Anime Shipping Olympics (SASO).

Introduction

Sports Anime Festival (aka SportsFest) is a 8-week event focused on prompting and filling for sports animanga fandoms. Any kind of creative work is allowed for this event, including fanart, fanfiction, podfic, graphic design, animation, fanvids, cosplay, knitting, coding, games, and more. All people with any creative skills are encouraged to participate!

This year, because of lack of manpower we offer to you a shorter version of this event : MINI SPORTSFEST. It will only run from June 28th to August 23rd. (Schedule)

The event will start with an Icebreaker and a Graphic Round (also known as Bonus Round 0) as soon as Sign Ups open. Then, there will be 3 consecutive Bonus Rounds, each under a different theme. Moreover, you will be able to recommend the fanworks created during Rec Round or remix them during Remix Round, both rounds will be open the entirety of the event.

Mini SportsFest is hosted here on Dreamwidth, so an account is mandatory to be able to participate. Make sure that your account is verified before signing up. If you don’t own one yet, creating one is quick and easy, and you just have to click here to begin the process! Don't forget to join the Dreamwidth community! Anyone age 13 or older can participate in SportsFest. However, for the sake of transparency, we will keep track of any minor as they are not allowed to participate in the NSFW community called After Hours. Read more about our minor policy here.

The big difference between the usual SportsFest and this mini version is that there will be NO TEAM, NO MAIN ROUND, AND NO POINTS. It’s a completely self-indulgent, no competitive event. You are free to join the event whenever and to participate as much or as little as you’d like!

Bonus Rounds

Bonus Round 0, or Graphic Round, kicks off Sportsfest and only lasts for 1 week. It doesn’t have either a theme or prompts. Participants make graphics such as icons or banners for others to use throughout the festival. See an example of that here!

The three Bonus Rounds during Mini SportsFest are the main activity, each round will run for 2 weeks. The mods will post a general theme, such as "AUs" or "Quotes.", and participants will be able to post prompts following a theme, to which others will reply with a fanwork (a fill) inspired by said prompts.

Remix Round doesn’t involve prompting. Instead, participants create works based off of the fills of other participants. These can be continuations of another participant's story, a story inspired by a piece of art (or vice versa), a podfic (or audiobook version) of a story, or any other conceivable "remix" of an existing work. It will stay open throughout the event.

Rec Round, also open during the entire event, needs no prompting, only posts recommending fanworks created during the event.

You can join our Discord server! This is entirely optional, however this is where you can meet fellow participants, discuss the event, or just hang out.

Before the event begins, we will have Icebreaker activities running on the Discord! Icebreakers are a fun way to kick off the event and meet other participants.

SportsFest is not affiliated with SASO or any of the members who ran it, however we are continuing the spirit of the event with permission.
