Bonus Round 3: Superlatives
Bonus Round 3: Superlatives
For this round, get ready to dive back into those high school yearbooks. Who’s the cutest couple? Who has the prettiest smile? Who’s most likely to go pro? Be creative and have fun!
This bonus round will close on August 3rd, 2018 11:59PM PT (23:59 PT). [COUNTDOWN]
This Round is CLOSED. It is perpetually open for new fills.
Rules
In the context of this round, superlatives are “titles” or “awards” a character/s might win based on their personality, appearance, future, etc. Superlatives are common in American high school yearbooks.
Please use one of the following formats for your prompt:
[SUPERLATIVE]: [Winner (Character/s, Object, Places, etc.)]
or
[SUPERLATIVE]: Filler’s Pick
Including the character who earns the superlative is optional. You can pick it yourself or allow the filler to choose. That said, remember that your header must ALWAYS include AT LEAST one fandom in the “fandom” section. Prompts that write “any” in the fandom section will not be counted for points.
Please be sure to fill out all lines of the header (even with “None” or “N/A,” so we can count your prompts/fill for points.) If you leave a line blank we don’t know if it was intentional or a mistake, and cannot count it for points.
All prompts must come from a nominated fandom.
You’re welcome to be as classic or creative as you like with your superlatives. Both typical and atypical superlatives are great for this round!
Superlatives don’t need to just apply to people! We encourage you to be as creative as you want to be!
Still confused about what a superlative is? Hopefully these examples will help!
A Few Examples:
MOST LIKELY TO SURVIVE A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE: Abe Takaya
BEST PRANKSTER/S: Bokuto Koutarou
WORST COUPLE TO THIRD WHEEL WITH: Viktor / Yuuri
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER (CHESS CLUB): Filler’s Pick
BEST SIDEKICK: Pocari Sweat
ULTIMATE ANIMAL COMPANION: Filler’s Pick
TOP 5 CELEBRITY SECRETS: Filler’s Pick
If Prompting
Please use the following subject line for prompt:
Prompt: [Your Team]
Replace [Your Team] with the name of the team you belong to. Nicknames or Official Names are both acceptable
Copy/Paste the following into the body of your comment. Delete all instructional text in parentheses.
NSFW Prompts
EXPLICITLY NSFW PROMPTS must be posted to the after-hours comm. “Explicitly NSFW” means that the prompt includes outright sexual content (whether in a photograph, drawing, or in words), and prompts that in the additional requests are asking for explicit fills. Prompts are posted with the same HTML format, in the same manner as a SFW prompt, just under the designated post for that Bonus Round in the after-hours comm. See ‘Filling’ for the procedures for NSFW Fills.
Once you have joined the Afterhours community, you can find the corresponding post HERE.

Replace [Your Team] with the name of the team you belong to. Nicknames and Official Names are both acceptable
Replace [Rating] with the rating of your fill (G-E).

NSFW Fills
All NSFW fills must be posted in the corresponding Bonus Round post in the After Hours community. If filling a prompt that has been posted on the after-hours comm, simply reply to that prompt. If filling a SFW prompt, let the prompter know by replying to the original prompt on the main comm with a link to your fill on the corresponding after-hours Bonus Round Post. Please do not use the Fill subject line or Fill header when cross-linking. This will cause the BR scorer to count your fill twice.
Once you have joined the Afterhours community, you can find the corresponding post HERE.
Scoring
The scoring for bonus rounds depends on the number of people (n) on your team. You’re welcome to make as many prompts and fills as you like!
For prompts: 5 points per prompt, limited to 5 times the number of team members (5n)
For fills, where (n) = number of members on you team:
First 5n fills: 20 points each
Fills 5n to 10n: 10 points each
Fills 10n to 15n: 5 points each
All fills after 15n: 2 points each
Confused? Don’t worry; math is hard. Check out the Bonus Round Point Widget to help you figure out the point scale for your team.
We’ve changed the expected workload for Bonus Round Fills! The new recommended workload is 12 fills per member for Gold, 8 fills per member for Silver, and 4 fills per member for Bronze. The scoring post has been updated to reflect this (and other changes made to scoring! We’ll be releasing a Halftime update post in the near future with all the changes made thanks to your feedback!)
All scored content must be created new for this round.
Additional Information
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).
Icie’s fantastic SportsFest Prompt/Fill database can also help you sort through prompts (and fills!)
If you’d like more information, you can look at the BR GUIDELINES.
You can also post your Fills to the Official AO3 Collection.
A Tip: We all want SportsFest to be a fun and safe environment. If you notice someone has made a mistake in their required tagging, or any other html or rules related aspect of their comment, do let them know, message them privately rather than replying - if you reply, they can’t edit the comment! If you aren’t comfortable letting the commenter know directly, contact a mod and we will make sure they update the required tags.
If you have any other concerns about Bonus Round Prompts/Fills, you can use this anonymous form to bring them to the mod team. You can submit Bonus Round concerns using this Google Form.

There is a market on the water that only comes round on midsummer nights, and only when the moon is bright enough. Eishi’s father had brought him there once. He was seven years old then and he had wandered off while his father looked at slabs of freshly filleted fish, and it was on the decks tucked in between two stalls that he’d found the boy with the ice-blue eyes and rose-white hair, the boy who looked so much like him. They saw each other at the same time. The boy was the first to hold out his hand, and when Eishi came closer, he twined their fingers together and placed his other hand solemnly upon Eishi’s heart. Eishi had never heard his own pulse so cleanly till that moment.
You can get the best produce here, his father said. Lemons plucked from a tree that’s always in flower, raw meat that melts like honey on a warm tongue. So it is that many summers later, Eishi goes to the docks at night again. He waits for the moon to emerge from behind the clouds, and steps out onto the water. The surface holds.
When he reaches the decks, the boy is there. He has grown too, and his tie is thrown over one shoulder, shirt undone down to the second button.
“I wondered when you would return,” he greets Eishi.
Eishi presses his lips together. They are dry, suddenly. “I’m just here for venison.”
“Sure,” says the boy. He straightens upright from where he’s leaning against the railing. Behind him, the stalls of the floating market light up one by one, but Eishi’s only dimly aware of them; as the boy walks towards him, the lanterns throw his features into sharp relief and Eishi knows he isn’t seeing things.
He reaches up to his own collar, finds that he had left his tie at home and his neck is bare.
“Is that a mask,” he asks, “or are you me?”
The other him smiles. He raises one hand to Eishi’s face, touches him on the cheek, so gently, so gently. It is the caress he gives a deer before the slaughter. It is filled with nothing but love.
“That depends,” he says, “on whether this is a mask.”
Eishi does not smile back. He breathes, inhales the scent of saltwater and blood, worn like fine cologne on the inside of a wrist. He wants to close his eyes, to surrender, but if there’s one thing he’s always been good at it’s meeting selfishness with an equal dose of his own.
So he keeps his eyes open, shudders as the boy runs his hand along the curve of Eishi’s jaw, trails fingers down his throat, the bob of his Adam’s apple, the spaces in between his ribs. His gaze flicks up. It is not the ice Eishi remembers from years ago but an entire ocean, a glacier aching to melt.
“How wonderful. I planted the first shard here, back then, you know. And you’ve kept it so well. It’s grown into a whole garden. A beautiful garden,” he murmurs.
Eishi’s heartbeat quickens again. He permits himself a smile at last, a double-edged blade against his sorrow, and meeting that gaze directly, he reaches out too.
“The difference between us,” he says, “is that I have learned to use these knives, and my love is not so pure as yours.”
A pulse in the hand is cleaner than one in the ears. He will keep this to himself, swallow it and know the taste of burnt truth. For now, his hand finds the spot on the other boy’s chest where he keeps his own knives, and plunges in.
