Bonus Round 3: Superlatives
Bonus Round 3: Superlatives
For this round, get ready to dive back into those high school yearbooks. Who’s the cutest couple? Who has the prettiest smile? Who’s most likely to go pro? Be creative and have fun!
This bonus round will close on August 3rd, 2018 11:59PM PT (23:59 PT). [COUNTDOWN]
This Round is CLOSED. It is perpetually open for new fills.
Rules
In the context of this round, superlatives are “titles” or “awards” a character/s might win based on their personality, appearance, future, etc. Superlatives are common in American high school yearbooks.
Please use one of the following formats for your prompt:
[SUPERLATIVE]: [Winner (Character/s, Object, Places, etc.)]
or
[SUPERLATIVE]: Filler’s Pick
Including the character who earns the superlative is optional. You can pick it yourself or allow the filler to choose. That said, remember that your header must ALWAYS include AT LEAST one fandom in the “fandom” section. Prompts that write “any” in the fandom section will not be counted for points.
Please be sure to fill out all lines of the header (even with “None” or “N/A,” so we can count your prompts/fill for points.) If you leave a line blank we don’t know if it was intentional or a mistake, and cannot count it for points.
All prompts must come from a nominated fandom.
You’re welcome to be as classic or creative as you like with your superlatives. Both typical and atypical superlatives are great for this round!
Superlatives don’t need to just apply to people! We encourage you to be as creative as you want to be!
Still confused about what a superlative is? Hopefully these examples will help!
A Few Examples:
MOST LIKELY TO SURVIVE A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE: Abe Takaya
BEST PRANKSTER/S: Bokuto Koutarou
WORST COUPLE TO THIRD WHEEL WITH: Viktor / Yuuri
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER (CHESS CLUB): Filler’s Pick
BEST SIDEKICK: Pocari Sweat
ULTIMATE ANIMAL COMPANION: Filler’s Pick
TOP 5 CELEBRITY SECRETS: Filler’s Pick
If Prompting
Please use the following subject line for prompt:
Prompt: [Your Team]
Replace [Your Team] with the name of the team you belong to. Nicknames or Official Names are both acceptable
Copy/Paste the following into the body of your comment. Delete all instructional text in parentheses.
NSFW Prompts
EXPLICITLY NSFW PROMPTS must be posted to the after-hours comm. “Explicitly NSFW” means that the prompt includes outright sexual content (whether in a photograph, drawing, or in words), and prompts that in the additional requests are asking for explicit fills. Prompts are posted with the same HTML format, in the same manner as a SFW prompt, just under the designated post for that Bonus Round in the after-hours comm. See ‘Filling’ for the procedures for NSFW Fills.
Once you have joined the Afterhours community, you can find the corresponding post HERE.
If Filling

If you’d like to use a different medium, please contact the mods if you have any questions about minimum requirements.

Format
FILL: [Your Team], [Rating]
Replace [Your Team] with the name of the team you belong to. Nicknames and Official Names are both acceptable
Replace [Rating] with the rating of your fill (G-E).
Copy/Paste the following into the body of your comment. Delete all instructional text in parentheses.
NSFW Fills
All NSFW fills must be posted in the corresponding Bonus Round post in the After Hours community. If filling a prompt that has been posted on the after-hours comm, simply reply to that prompt. If filling a SFW prompt, let the prompter know by replying to the original prompt on the main comm with a link to your fill on the corresponding after-hours Bonus Round Post. Please do not use the Fill subject line or Fill header when cross-linking. This will cause the BR scorer to count your fill twice.
Once you have joined the Afterhours community, you can find the corresponding post HERE.
Scoring
The scoring for bonus rounds depends on the number of people (n) on your team. You’re welcome to make as many prompts and fills as you like!
For prompts: 5 points per prompt, limited to 5 times the number of team members (5n)
For fills, where (n) = number of members on you team:
First 5n fills: 20 points each
Fills 5n to 10n: 10 points each
Fills 10n to 15n: 5 points each
All fills after 15n: 2 points each
Confused? Don’t worry; math is hard. Check out the Bonus Round Point Widget to help you figure out the point scale for your team.
We’ve changed the expected workload for Bonus Round Fills! The new recommended workload is 12 fills per member for Gold, 8 fills per member for Silver, and 4 fills per member for Bronze. The scoring post has been updated to reflect this (and other changes made to scoring! We’ll be releasing a Halftime update post in the near future with all the changes made thanks to your feedback!)
All scored content must be created new for this round.
Additional Information
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).
Icie’s fantastic SportsFest Prompt/Fill database can also help you sort through prompts (and fills!)
If you’d like more information, you can look at the BR GUIDELINES.
You can also post your Fills to the Official AO3 Collection.
A Tip: We all want SportsFest to be a fun and safe environment. If you notice someone has made a mistake in their required tagging, or any other html or rules related aspect of their comment, do let them know, message them privately rather than replying - if you reply, they can’t edit the comment! If you aren’t comfortable letting the commenter know directly, contact a mod and we will make sure they update the required tags.
If you have any other concerns about Bonus Round Prompts/Fills, you can use this anonymous form to bring them to the mod team. You can submit Bonus Round concerns using this Google Form.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask a mod.

Abe thought he knew Mihashi’s smile— mouth turned up at the corners, small and pleased and a little ridiculous. It was a little embarrassed, the way Mihashi always seemed to be, but it was a good smile. It suited him. It meant he trusted Abe, and wouldn’t shake him off.
It’s kind of a shock to learn he didn’t know Mihashi’s smile at all. Oh, he knew a smile, but not the smile, the one that means Mihashi is really happy. It’s not awkward or embarrassed at all; it’s like he’s lit from inside, and happiness radiates out like sunbeams. It’s wide and open and makes Abe’s chest feel tight, in a good way.
Abe’s always made it his job to know his pitcher, and he’s irritated he’d missed this for so long. After that first real, brilliant smile, he’s not satisfied with the old, smaller smiles. They’re fine, of course— better those than tears— but he wants to see that bright smile again. It’s part of his job, right, to see that his pitcher is happy? And…it’s part of being a friend, too.
--
Tajima was a lot better at making Mihashi smile than Abe was, and Abe would be lying if he said he wasn’t jealous. Still, even if he wasn’t the cause, it was good to see Mihashi looking so bright.
“Your ace has a great smile,” he heard someone say behind him. Abe nearly choked on his water. Had someone read his mind?
“Tajima has a good smile, too, of course,” the woman continued. “But that pitcher—his whole face changes.”
“They’re kids; they all have great smiles,” said Momokan. Abe peeked around the corner of the dugout to see her talking with someone. A reporter, it looked like. Nishiura was getting a lot more of those, these days. “But yeah, Mihashi’s gonna knock some socks off, both on the mound and off.”
“Tell me about the team,” the reporter said, her tone shifting to something more professional. Abe tuned her out, and looked back at the field, where Tajima currently had a squawking Mihashi in a headlock.
Other people were noticing how talented Mihashi was. That was good. Mihashi was good, and he and Abe worked well together.
Other people were noticing Mihashi’s smile. That was. Abe felt something twist behind his ribs. That was good, too, right?
--
Mihashi doesn’t smile right in photos; he gets too self-conscious. Even their team photo after they made it to Koushien has him looking like a pleased, slightly awkward bird, while the rest of the team looks like they’re going to explode with happiness.
Sometimes, though, Abe or Shinooka or someone will manage to get a photo of Mihashi without him noticing, and there he’d be, happy and shining. As they get older and better (and closer), these occurrences become more and more frequent, until it seems even more absurd than it originally had Abe had taken so long to see his real smile.
