Thank you so much for participating in Sportsfest this year! While we finalize the scores and wrap things up you are welcomed to give us your feedback about the event and how it could be improved! The mod team is subject to change next time but we hope this will help future mods to run the event.

How to participate

There are two main ways to participate in Talkback!

1. Reply to this post in a comment. Other participants will be able to contribute in the discussion, and your feedback will not be anonymous. Mods will also be able to participate in the discussion, unless you specify that you’d prefer we not reply to your feedback.
   
   
2. Submit this Google Form. Your feedback will be completely anonymous.

Additionally, if you’re not comfortable with either of these options, you can send an email to the Official Mod Email Account (sportsfest.mods@gmail.com) with the subject line “Sportsfest 2020 Talkback.”

Here are some of the main discussion points, if you want a more detailed list of topics please refer to the next section:

• How did SportsFest go generally? What were the biggest hang-ups, and what worked well?
  
• What are your thoughts on nominations and team sign-ups?

Grandstand Main Round Teams

The start of Main Round 1 is just around the corner! If you're a go-getter Grandstander who wants to find other Grandstanders to team up with and create an entry, this is the place for you!

Rules

---

• Grandstanders can form temporary teams of at least 2 people (and up to 8 persons) to create and submit a Main Round entry.
  
• Though not competing for points, MR entries must be submitted on time and meet the minimum requirements.
  
• Grandstanders may participate in a single MR or both and are free to be part of different teams for MR1 and MR2.

Welcome to SportsFest 2020!

Icebreaker is a way for you to have some fun before the event begins, to meet other participants and potential teammates. There will be two Icebreakers during the Sign-Ups period, just for fun, no points involved!

We are also hosting Icebreakers on our Discord! You can join here.

For the second Icebreaker, the game is to Recommend a fanwork!
There are two ways to participate:
1. Link under this post any SFW art, fic, etc, that you want to share with us!
2. Or you can ask for recommendations about a show, a character, a pairing or even centered around a certain theme or trope!

Team sign ups will close May 31st, 2020, midday EDT (4pm GMT).
Grandstand sign ups will remain open until June 7th, 2020, midday EDT (4pm GMT).

Thank you for your interest in joining Sportsfest!
If this is your first time participating or you're unfamiliar with the event, be sure to read over the Event Rules!
If you are a returning participant (good to see you again!), please check out the Rules Update, as we changed a couple of things!

During sign ups you can either:

• Create a Competitive Team: a team dedicated to continuous and active participation in the event. These teams participate for points and may contain 4 to 8 members. The team is focused around a character/pairing/group/series they'll create content for during Main Rounds. More details on Team creation here.
  
• Join a Competitive Team: you can find all existing teams in our team roster.
  
• Join Grandstand: a non-competitive option just for fun. Team Grandstand has no upper limit for size and does not compete for points. They can participate in all SportsFest activities however they want.

From May 31st to June 7th there will be a Team Switching period.
During this week we expect team members to reach out, discuss their projects for the event and nominate a Team Captain.
Please note that if a Competitive team doesn't reach 4 members by the end of Team Sign-ups we will ask the members to move to another team or Grandstand. If by the end of Team Switching period they haven't moved they will automatically be assigned to Grandstand.

If you would like to switch to another competitive team or to Grandstand, please submit your request through this form.
Reaching out to your fellow team members and switching team can, of course, be done throughout the whole Sign-Ups period!
