If Prompting

Please use the following subject line for prompt:

Prompt: [Your Team]

  • Replace [Your Team] with the name of the team you belong to. Nickname or Official Name are both acceptable

Copy/Paste the following into the body of your comment. Delete all instructional text in parentheses.

NSFW Prompts

EXPLICITLY NSFW PROMPTS must be posted to the After-Hours comm. To join, click here.

After joining, you will be able to access the AfterHours BR1 post.

“Explicitly NSFW” means that the prompt includes outright sexual content (whether in a photograph, drawing, or in words), and prompts that in the additional requests are asking for explicit fills. Prompts are posted with the same HTML format, in the same manner as a SFW prompt, just under the designated post for that Bonus Round in the After-Hours comm. See ‘Filling’ for the procedures for NSFW Fills.

If Filling

Minimums

Required Work Minimums:

NSFW Fills

All NSFW fills MUST be posted in the corresponding Bonus Round post in the After Hours community. To join, click here.

After joining, you will be able to access the AfterHours BR1 post.

If filling a prompt that has been posted on the after-hours comm, simply reply to that prompt. If filling a SFW prompt, let the prompter know by replying to the original prompt on the main comm with a link to your fill on the corresponding after-hours Bonus Round Post. Please DO NOT use the Fill subject line or Fill header when cross-linking. This will cause the BR scorer to count your fill twice.

Scoring

The scoring for bonus rounds depends on the number of people (n) on your team. You’re welcome to make as many prompts and fills as you like!

For prompts: 5 points per prompt, limited to 5 times the number of team members (5n)

For fills, where (n) = number of members on you team:

  • First 5n fills: 20 points each
  • Fills 5n to 10n: 10 points each
  • Fills 10n to 15n: 5 points each
  • All fills after 15n: 2 points each

Confused? Don’t worry; math is hard. Check out the Bonus Round Point Widget to help you figure out the point scale for your team.

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Additional Information

If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post). We’ll also have a prompt/fill database up and running soon that will help you filter through BR posts.

A Tip: We all want SportsFest to be a fun and safe environment. If you notice someone has made a mistake in their required tagging, or any other html or rules related aspect of their comment, do let them know, message them privately rather than replying - if you reply, they can’t edit the comment! If you aren’t comfortable letting the commenter know directly, contact a mod and we will make sure they update the required tags.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact a mod.

(softly) Inui, no…

***

To: Tezuka Kunimitsu
Tezuka.

Inui waited for a full five minutes before following up.

To: Tezuka Kunimitsu
Tezuka. Are you awake?

He watched as the sent bar slowly filled (painfully slowly in his opinion; he really needed to look into ways to strengthen the cell signal in his bedroom) and the message status finally switched from "sending" to "sent" to "delivered."

Another five minutes passed, and just when he was about to give up, the "delivered" status switched over to "read."

He waited another five minutes, but there was no reply.

To: Tezuka Kunimitsu
It's important.

From: Tezuka Kunimitsu

Inui looked impatiently at his phone. He had no idea how Tezuka managed to send blank text messages (and they were well and truly blank; he had checked once—no content at all, not even a space), but somehow the captain did, and somehow that didn't surprise Inui at all. Not that it really mattered in the end; he had plenty of other ways to reach Tezuka should the need arise.

Like now. Tezuka was clearly awake, so there was absolutely no reason for Tezuka to be ignoring his messages. He had an important breakthrough to share thank you very much.

His fingers trembled ever so slightly as he punched the numbers on the keypad.

The phone rang. And rang. And rang.

"Hello, you've reached Tezuka Kunimitsu. I'm unable to answer the phone right now. Please leave your name, number, and a brief message, and I'll return you're call as soon as possible."

"Tezuka, it's Inui. I know you're up, and you're reading my messages, so I know you have your phone, so don't keep pretending you don't hear me. It's important. I was looking over the training notebooks again, and I discovered something really important. It has the potentially to completely change our approach to training and team structure."

Inui hung up, then returned to entering numbers into his calculator and scribbling down numbers.

One minute and forty-nine seconds later, his phone rang.

"Tezuka. Finally."

"Inui, it's 1 am."

"Time as we understand it is a human construction. The laws of the universe don't cease functioning simply because we declare it night time."

"What is so important it couldn't wait until tomorrow?"

"I'm glad you finally asked! I was looking back over the data collected from the past two weeks and compiling it with the training journals we asked everyone to keep on their own. 97% of it was about what we expected. Kaidou is overtraining again by 178%, but that's within the margins that I anticipated when creating his training menu. Eiji is 93% more efficient when paired with Oishi than with anyone else. Momoshiro's accuracy is suffering again, and Kaidou has an unpredictable effect there; he either increased Momoshiro's ability by 34% or decreases it by 29%. More research is needed to determine exactly which factors play into that and how it can be leveraged more consistently to our advantage."

"Inui, the point," Tezuka interrupted.

"Nearly there," Inui replied absently, skimming a finger down the pages of his notes until he reached the lines he was looking for. "Yes, right, there was a significant anomaly last Tuesday afternoon during the latter half of practice. Everyone during break ate the honey lemons and onigiri that Taka brought; however, in all previous similar instances, the effect of Kawamura's home cooking has been a 10-15% decrease in speed during the following hour as well as approximately a 30% increase in power over the same period. The working hypothesis, backed up by multiple research studies I have cited before—you should have the citations in the list I gave you last month, but if you like, I could pull them up again now..."

"That won't be necessary. Continue."

"As I was saying, we've gathered data from over a dozen similar instances spanning the past two years, one month, and eleven days. All fell within a standard deviation of the ranges cited previously, and as this never took place during a competition match, and the decrease in speed was offset by an increase in strength, we chose to allow the practice to continue as it seemed to have a significant positive effect on team morale as well. However, in the instance cited above from last Tuesday, the expected behavior was not observed. If anything, the changes were inverted. Overall speed increased by nearly 15% by my observation, but strength dropped by nearly 20%. Additionally, teamwork exhibited some strange behaviors, with Fuji being more in sync with Eiji than Oishi was, and Momoshiro and Kaidou both showing approximately a 10% increase across all skills when paired together. If we could determine the root cause of this behavior, then we could replicate it at will to improve our doubles play in a tournament setting. As doubles is consistently one of our weaker areas, this could have a significant impact on our results."

"Inui, you do realize—"

"I've begun doing an initial run at data mining for all factors that could have contributed. Unfortunately, as you are aware, I was occupied on a call with the sporting goods store about the unsatisfactory performance of a recent batch of tennis balls and the need to have all of the regulars' rackets restrung at least three days prior to the start of the national tournament, so all analysis is based off of video recordings and the notes individual team members saw fit to record. As no one else in the team has been trained in true data collection and analysis methods, the data from the latter source leaves much to be desired. Many of the notes are partially or fully illegible, and those that are not are frequently a single word or phrase. In 67% of cases, it is some form of a plea for mercy rather than any actually usable training data. The video data is of more use. A first analysis shows a significant increase in perspiration from nearly all team members after the break as compared to the first. I've yet to quantify the change, but a rough qualitative estimate would be nearly double. I checked climatological data from the weather station on top of the school at three-minute intervals over the practice period, but there were no significant changes that would explain the observed phenomenon. This does not rule out, however, the possibility of a microclimate within the training court. I'll put in a request for approval to construct a smaller weather station on the court itself to help with this investigation. The other major uncontrolled factor is, of course, the content of the food that was brought in. If you look in Appendix A of the general training notebook from June two years ago, you'll see the full calorimetric analysis of a representative reference sample of the food items in question. At this time of year, the majority of lemons sold in this area originate from Satsuma. This year, the Satsuma crops had the most favorable growing conditions in over a decade, and the average fruit was 13% larger by weight. If one calculates—"

"Inui."

"One minute."

"Inui," Tezuka cut in more forcefully.

Inui adjusted his glasses, refusing to be bent by Tezuka's will. "Nearly there. It will all make sense in approximately forty-two seconds if there are no further interruptions. As I was saying, when you take the increase in fruit size, and also factor in the recent surge in availability of higher-quality honeys from a variety of sources, and also remember that the same weather systems that led to the surge of lemons also caused ideal growing conditions for rice higher in the mountains, one could hypothesize that—"

"Inui, it was Fuji's fault," Tezuka said, continuing before Inui could cut him off again. "He tripped over a stray roll of grip tape while serving, which caused the ghost chili sauce Taka had added to Fuji's onigiri to transfer to all the others. No one realized until they bit into them. In the ensuing chaos, Oishi accidentally drank your Inui Juice instead of water and was incapacitated for the rest of practice."

"Ghost chiles. Fascinating!" Inui said, scribbling frantically. "This warrants further investigation into—"

"There will be no ghost chiles on or near the courts. That's an order."

Tezuka hung up abruptly, leaving Inui staring at his now silent phone.

To do: he wrote, investigate non-ghost chili alternatives to ghost chiles.

OH MY GOOOOOOD, that was a wild ride from the start to finish lmao

there's not a single thing i don't love about this, the blank text, tezuka refusing to pick up, the long ramble (how did you even type the whole thing down, thats like... superhuman) and the conclusion, just incredible
