They meet at a dance party.

Club Penguin user Harucchi19, a pink penguin decked out in all of the latest penguin fashion trends, takes poor Furuya’s heart away that evening with exemplary dance moves and superior conversational skills.

Harucchi19: i like your hat

Furuya frowns. He likes his hat, too. It’s a baseball helmet not unlike the one he has to wear for school. But this penguin dance party is full of other penguins, most of them adorned with their own unique hats and shirts and miscellaneous clothing, so he’s not sure which penguin Harucchi19 is complimenting.

Furuya decides to take his chances.

Staminaroll: thanks

For what feels like all nine of his penguin lifetimes (because there’s no way that rule only applies to cats. Furuya’s been at the Club Penguin Ninja Hideout long enough to know.), Harucchi19 doesn’t respond. Oh, no. This could prove to be really embarrassing for staminaroll, so he’d better leave soon.

Four other penguins in the room start to leave. There’s only a few other penguins in here with them, and Furuya is about to push the icon in the corner to follow suit when Harucchi19’s speech bubble pops up.

Harucchi19: you like baseball?

Could it be? Is Harucchi19 interested in learning more about Staminaroll?

Staminaroll: yes i play on a team at school

Harucchi19: cool

Furuya doesn’t mean to brag, but he’s fairly sure he’s crushing it tonight. How often is it that a simple, blue, helmet-wearing penguin even gets a chance to talk to a cool, trendsetting pink penguin with amazing dance skills, to boot?

It’s with his newfound that he types his next message:

Staminaroll: Do you wanna go out sometiem?

Furuya’s finger stalls on the enter key for a moment, but in his nervousness his finger shakes and hits send before he even has a chance to correct the misspelling.

But much to Furuya’s surprise, the response is both enthusiastic and instantaneous:

Harucchi19: sure

Harucchi19: is tomorrow ok @ 7pm? mayb at the iceberg?

Furuya grins. Never in a million years would he think this situation would turn out so well in his favor.

Staminaroll: ok

Harucchi19: cool

Harucchi19: c u tomorrow

Once Harucchi19 leaves the dance floor, Furuya heads to the shop. This calls for some extreme changes: he’ll play as many minigames as he needs to get Staminaroll some better clothes for this date!

Haruichi’s fingers stand at attention at his keyboard, surveying the screen from beneath his bangs for what he assumes will be the last time this evening. His lips press into a thin, firm line. The clock reads 9:39pm, he’s standing in the middle of The Iceberg, just like they’d agreed on. The blue baseball penguin with the black helmet is over two and a half hours late to their date.

“I guess he’s not going to show up after all,” he huffs, hovering his cursor over the exit button.

He scans the Iceberg, one last time. There are a few blue penguins, but none of the penguins have the right clothes on. He’d recognize that baseball helmet anywhere. And besides-- even if he did change clothes, baseball penguin would have said something by now, right?

If only he’d remembered baseball penguin’s username.

I have no idea what Club Penguin is, but this is heckin cute, my dude.
