Main Round 2: Space
Main Round 2: Space
Main Round 2 is space: the final frontier—science fiction, stargazing, intergalactic travel, constellations of freckles, full moons, and more. You can think outside the box, too; space can also be about safe spaces, cyberspace, spaces between people, workspaces, headspaces, even parking spaces. Be creative with the theme, have fun, and reach for the stars!
Main Round 2 will be due August 16th, 2018 at 11:59PM PT (23:59 PT) (Countdown)
Rules
No old works will be accepted for this round; new creations only. (There are some exceptions for code chunks and cosplay, please see the Main Round Guidelines.
We encourage you to collaborate within your teammates to create this piece, but no one outside your team is allowed to participate in creating this work!
There's no upper limit for your work, only completion points! (You earn them for being on time, meeting the minimum requirements listed in the Main Round Guidelines, and properly tagging your work.)
Check out the info about medals, and be sure that you and your team members are on the same page. It will be difficult to get Gold or Silver without completing BOTH Main Rounds.
If you have minors on your team, you are NOT allowed to post NSFW MRs, as per our minor policy.
Important: Unlike SASO, we will NOT be enforcing an anonymity policy on MR entries. You may give credit to your team/teammates when posting your MR. That being said, please DO NOT post your Main Round anywhere else before August 25th, 2018.
Grandstand MRs
Two (2) or more people in Team Grandstand can create an MR entry together. (It won't receive points, but we're all about having fun, so consider this option!)
This will make the MR eligible to be commented on for the Comment Round.
Make sure your ship or character/s are from a sports animanga that qualified!
If you would like to create a work that focuses on a group/ship that a competitive team is already doing, please reach out to them first! You don’t have to reach out if you’re creating an MR entry that centers around the same animanga as a competitive team.
If creating a Grandstand MR, it is SUPER important that you message the mods what ship/group/character you are creating for, a list of Grandstand-ers on your team, and Dreamwidth username(s) of who will be posting your MR entry (so we can grant you access to the MR comm.). Discord usernames are also helpful, if applicable.
Even if you participated in a Grandstand Team for MR1, please let us know if you’re participating in MR2!
If creating a Grandstand MR, the SportsFest minor policy still applies. Grandstand teams with minors will NOT be allowed to submit NSFW MRs
Posting
Main Round 2 entries will be posted to: sportsfest18_mr2
If you are on a competitive team, the members you indicated on your teamwork form will gain posting access to the comm. on August 12th, 2018 at 12AM (0:00) PT.
The Main Round Posting Guide may be helpful for information on posting to the MR community.
The comm. will close on August 16th, 2018 at 11:59PM (23:59) PT.
