Hello, I love MiyuSawa and the prompt was too perfect

***

With a castle full of dynamic, young and already tipsy athletes, it was a true miracle that the venue was so respectfully silent when the first notes of the grooms’ song resonated, and the guests forced themselves not to start cooing at the enamoured faces and the tenderness when they took each other’s hand on their way to the center of the room.

There had been nothing rehearsed about the dance, unlike how the majority of engaged people did nowadays. To be fair, it mostly was about ordinary couples who didn’t frequently make the covers of magazines and newspapers and only took this moment as their sole time under the spotlight. It even added to the cuteness, how they kept swinging in opposite directions, not even with the rhythm, just to laugh about it. The spectacle was certainly drastically different to the one the couple offered on a general, day to day basis where the ones laughing were mostly the audience. This time, they were entranced by the obvious display of love between them.

The grooms, however, didn’t seem to have even noticed them, like forgotten the moment they had locked hands, lost in their own happy bubble.

It was more than a consecration of their love, they had been at war against society for a long time and those two were winners in more ways than just one. The closest of their acquaintances had been crying since the ceremony but as much as the tears couldn’t stop flowing they at least had the decency to do so quietly. The rest wasn’t that far off either, and even their high school coach had wisely decided to keep his sunglasses on despite being indoors with poor lightning, and he was discreetly clenching a tissue the teary-eyed Seido recruiter had kindly provided him. The no-camera allowed policy had flown right over the Sawamura clan who hadn’t missed even a single interaction between the two men in the entire day, and the only thing betraying the grand-father’s emotion was the quivering lips visible beneath the family camera.

The last notes of the song echoed in the huge ballroom and the grooms stopped moving. The bespectacled groom’s hands found their way to his husband’s cheeks, brushing them and pressed their fronts together affectionately, momentarily closing their eyes when they made contact.

“Estimated guests, please give a round of applause to the best battery in baseball’s history as they make their official debut as a freshly married couple ! Let me introduce to you for the first time : The Miyukis !”

And the room roared back into life.
