Slow and steady wins the race

But we started late, so up the pace

Trying hard and falling short

We’re fighting to stay on the court

My breath is fast, my temple pounds

I’ll scratch and crawl my way from the ground

Heart beats rapid, then skips a beat

We fell, we failed, taste of defeat

There’s no time to moan, no time to wallow

Take our bitter pill and swallow

Stand back up, tall and strong

We’re not out yet, we’ll prove them wrong

I may not be a flashy player

I make up the foundation layer

Support and strength, since I began
