"I solemnly swear that I’m up to no good."

With the needed words spoken and the tap of a wand, the map unfolded and revealed its contents.

The four boys, roommates and brothers in mischief, all crowded over the enchanted parchment and watched as the names of their peers appeared for them to see.

It was just yesterday when they found out their Care of Magical Creatures professor had some Cornish pixies. Knowing their chaotic nature, Terushima convinced the other three that setting them loose in the Great Hall during breakfast might make them miss some of their first class. The four did not want to go to potions first thing tomorrow. They shared the class with the Slytherins, and Kuroo was, without a doubt, going to end up bickering with Daishou. Daichi was willing to go sneaking around if it meant putting off that inevitable outcome, for the sake of his poor head.

“Okay, if we’re going to pull this off, we need to work together. Kuroo, we’re gonna need your knowledge on all things magical to learn how to subdue the pixies, if we end up needing to.” Daichi said, glancing at said boy.

Kuroo gave a nod and a sharp grin, “A Slowing Charm or a Freezing Charm would be best. When we take them, we should just freeze them ‘til we’re ready to let them loose, to prevent any escaping and causing havoc to us. Messing up and unleashing the pixies on ourselves would defeat the purpose.”

Bokuto let out a sound of awe from where he knelt next to his friends, impressed by the other’s quick solution.

“Bokuto, Teru, you both will need to be our lookout,” Daichi then said, “Not all of us can fit under the invisibility cloak anymore, not like we did in the past, but you two can. Just give us enough warning if someone’s coming, so we can hide.” The two boys in question both give a nod and playful salute.

“As for myself, I’ll do the Levitation Charm.” Daichi was the best at that charm, being one of the first to master it way back in their first year, back when they were still wet behind the ears and getting used to the unfamiliar world of magic.

“Sounds like a plan,” Terushima grinned at the others, “No one’s gonna know what hit them.”

With all the roles assigned, they spent the rest of their planning time mapping out the best and quickest route to the professor’s room, where they would steal the pixies later that night.

It was nearly one in the morning when the four boys crept out of the Gryffindor dorms. Bokuto and Terushima were in the front, hidden by the cloak with the map in hand, leading the way towards the old professor’s room while expertly avoiding the patrolling prefects. It wasn’t long before they reached the area the professor kept the magical creatures in.

With a quick Alohomora cast on the locked door, the boys found themselves inside.

All around them, creatures of all sizes and abilities slept. A couple of Mooncalves, nocturnal creatures, wandered around their pen, paying no attention to the Gryffindors. There were Diricawls, Knarls, and even a tank full of Grindylows in the corner. It was breathtaking, seeing all the animals, but they had to be quick. There was no time to stop and look at everything.

They sneaked past the slumbering animals, not keen on waking any up and causing a mess, and quickly found the cage filled with pixies.

"Immobulus!” Kuroo hissed out, quickly casting the spell on the sleeping pixies. If any happened to be awake, there was no way they could move now. Daichi stepped up next, casting a Wingardium Leviosa on the cage, and Terushima was quick to place the invisibility cloak over it.

“That does it. You got them steady, Daichi?” Terushima asked in a barely contained whisper, excitement glittering in his eyes just thinking about the mayhem to come.

He received a nod, and then they were on the way back to the dorms to get some sleep.

That morning, the four boys got up early and headed down to the Great Hall before the usual rush. It’d be just their luck if they went down at their normal time and ended up bumping the cage against another student. With that in mind, Daichi levitated the pixies’ cage, still covered with the invisibility cloak, down to the Great Hall as inconspicuously as he could, while the other three boys tried to discreetly keep an eye out for any possible early risers.

When they arrived, Daichi put the cage under the table between them, and began their plan of acting normal and eating breakfast. They couldn’t unleash the pixies when there was barely anyone there, after all.

And so, they spent the next ten minutes shoveling food in their faces, glancing at each other in impatient excitement as they wait for the Great Hall to fill up with students and professors. Daichi gave a subtle nod as soon as everyone seemed to be there, signaling to Kuroo to lift the freezing charm placed on the pixies. With the charm lifted, the cage began to rattle, the pixies eager to escape from their cage. Bokuto quickly grabbed the cloak so the mischievous creatures couldn’t take it, before opening the latch of the cage.

In an instant, the Cornish pixies swarmed out from the cage, emerging from beneath the Gryffindor table and flying around, cackling in delight at their newfound freedom. Panicked, students all around them screamed and ducked their heads, trying to shield themselves from the devilish creatures. A few Ravenclaws attempted to subdue them but were quickly overwhelmed by the sheer amount. The pixies took wands and picked up food, flinging them all around. A group even grabbed a poor Hufflepuff first year by the ears and began lifting them towards the ceiling, much to their dismay.

Terushima let out a loud laugh as a Slytherin got porridge dumped on their head, only to be hit in the face by a pancake.

“Food fight!” Bokuto yelled out in glee, taking a piece of toast and throwing it at another student. The student tried to retaliate, and chaos only grew.

“IMMOBULUS!” Dumbledore stood atop his chair at the teachers’ table, wand held high in his hand as the spell was cast, and the pixies froze in their tracks, floating around slowly. His eyes turned towards the four Gryffindors, almost as if he knew they were the source of the mess, and he smiled. “What a fun morning!” He said joyfully.

Besides him, the Care of Magical Creatures professor fumed, “What is the meaning of this?”

They were silent for a moment, before Kuroo spoke up for them, “Well, you know what they say. All’s fair in magic and mischief!”
