It started with a random beanie placed into a pitcher’s locker one day. Furuya was always shivering with the chill of the late fall and the bite of the oncoming winter. He trudged into the change room one morning, fingers wrapped around a hand warmer before discovering the pair of eyes staring back at him from the top shelf of his locker.
“Oh! It’s a polar bear!” Haruichi exclaimed, Furuya slipping the soft hat on his head as his face changed into a state of satisfied bliss.
Yet no one came forward that day as the strange gift giver, Furuya running around the field during practice with the hat staring back at the rest of his teammates.

Miyuki was the next victim. A fluffy tail caught in the zipper of his equipment bag left hanging, before he pulled out one of the ugliest scarves imaginable from the inside-- raccoon eyes and eyes staring back from one end while the striped tail hung to the floor from the other.
“Oh but this is perfect to match your horrible fashion sense Miyuki!” Kuramochi wrapping the offending item around the catcher’s neck before running off in stitches to escape any wrath. Both missing the stare from the corner of the dugout as the guilty party judged their reactions to his newest gift.

“What in the world are those?” Ryousuke squinted even harder if possible at Haruichi’s hands, picking each up one by one to feel the softness of the mittens covering his skin.
“Rabbits I think… pink to be exact,” Haruichi responded grabbing his hands away from Ryousuke’s judging stare, “and personally I think they’re quite cute.”
Haruichi didn’t know what to think, staring out past his bangs at his older brother and brushing the soft ears in comfort until his expression finally softened. “Find out who’s making them and get a pair for me too.”

The secret was discovered after one particularly long winter practice. Kuramochi had shuffled off to the baths early determined to play his newest video game before turning in for the night, only to find a strange sight waiting for him when he returned to the dorm room.
A strange sight of one Sawamura Eijun humming along to whatever song was playing from his iPod headphones, a basket of yarn at his side and his hands moving in a slow, meticulate pattern with a set of knitting needles in his hands.

Thank goodness the cheetah ears were cute.
